A wonderful General Meeting was held in the Jury’s Hotel, Cardiff on Tuesday 10 October with over 140 members in attendance.
We were fortunate to welcome Bishop June to our first General Meeting, she confirmed that she is a Mothers’ Union member and highly values the work being undertaken in the Diocese.
The meeting began with morning worship led by the Venerable Christopher Smith, Archdeacon of Morgannwg and the intercessions led by our MU Chaplain, the Revd Canon Ruth Moverley.
Lynne Davies gave a presidential address, followed by presentations from the Finance and Administration, Faith and Policy, Action and Outreach and Marketing Units.
Midday prayers were led by MU Vice President for Morgannwg, Mari Harrison.
Our Guest speakers were Giselle Davies-Warren who gave a presentation on Charity Law and Jane Memory from the Soroptimist Society.
Displays of the Action and Outreach work in the Diocese were provided for members to view as well as the MU enterprise stall selling cards and diaries. Leaflets and posters were provided to members to take back to their branches.
There was much hwyl, fun and friendship blessed with marvellous hymn singing.
Looking forward to next year’s event already!

Christ has no body but yours,

No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
Compassion on this world,
Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good,
Yours are the hands, with which he blesses all the world.
Yours are the hands, yours are the feet,
Yours are the eyes, you are his body.
Christ has no body now but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
compassion on this world.
Christ has no body now on earth but yours.
